Chico → Boise. One Move Plan.

The Chico to Boise route is the one lane in our long-distance lineup that doesn't touch I-5 at all. Instead of heading north, crews load in Chico and run east on Highway 70 through the Feather River Canyon — a scenic, winding stretch past Oroville and Quincy that climbs over Beckwourth Pass before dropping into the high desert at Hallelujah Junction.

From there it's south to Reno on US-395, then east on I-80 through Fernley and Lovelock to Winnemucca, where the route turns north onto US-95 for the final stretch into Idaho. US-95 runs the entire length of western Idaho and delivers you straight into Boise — no need to route through Salt Lake City or double back through Twin Falls. All told it's roughly 565 miles and typically an 8.5 to 9.5 hour drive, which Murdock’s crews usually split with a rest stop in the Winnemucca area.

This isn't a route every long-distance mover runs comfortably — the Feather River Canyon has tight curves and limited passing room, and the Nevada high-desert stretch between Reno and Winnemucca is long, exposed, and short on services.
