CORRIDOR NOTES
Distances and drive times are planning estimates. Exact access, timing and delivery details are confirmed for each address before the move.
The haul from Denver to Sacramento is a classic western interstate run, and Murdock’s Moving carries it end to end on our own CPUC and USDOT authority. Your shipment leaves the Front Range on I-25 north through Fort Collins, crosses into Wyoming at Cheyenne, and picks up I-80 west for the long pull across the high desert — Laramie, Rawlins and Rock Springs, then down into Utah past Salt Lake City and across the Bonneville Salt Flats. From there it's the wide-open Great Basin through Nevada — Wendover, Elko, Winnemucca and Reno — before the climb over Donner Summit and down through the Sierra Nevada into the Sacramento Valley.
Because we are an owner-operated carrier and not a broker, the same truck and the same crew that load your home in Denver are the ones who unload it in Sacramento. Your belongings are never transferred to a stranger's rig or parked in a warehouse waiting for a load to fill. At roughly 1,230 miles, most Denver-to-Sacramento moves run three to four days door to door, and we give you a firm pickup and delivery window up front along with a single flat-rate price — no surprise weight tickets or mileage add-ons when the truck arrives.

DESTINATION BRIEF
Sacramento rewards people who want California without the Bay Area price tag. As the state capital, it anchors a diverse economy built on government, health care, higher education and a fast-growing tech and startup scene, and it sits within a two-hour drive of San Francisco, Lake Tahoe, Napa and the Sierra foothills. For Denver transplants used to weekend mountain access, that geography feels familiar — only now the coast, the wine country and the Delta are all on the menu too.
Newcomers tend to land in one of a few distinct districts. Midtown and East Sacramento draw people who want walkable, tree-lined blocks, craft restaurants and the grid's Victorian and Craftsman homes. Families gravitate to Natomas, Elk Grove, Folsom and Roseville for newer construction, bigger lots and strong schools, while Land Park and Curtis Park offer established charm close to downtown. The move itself usually means trading a Denver townhome or suburban house for a little more square footage and a yard, and our crews are used to navigating both the tight one-way streets of the central grid and the newer master-planned suburbs out toward the foothills.
The lifestyle leans outdoors and food-forward. Sacramento calls itself the Farm-to-Fork Capital, and the American River Parkway threads bike paths, kayaking and paddleboarding right through the metro. Bay-Area overflow has pushed steady demand into the region, so arriving with a locked-in mover and a clear delivery date takes a lot of stress out of the transition.
