CORRIDOR NOTES

What This Route Changes.

Distances and drive times are planning estimates. Exact access, timing and delivery details are confirmed for each address before the move.

The haul from Henderson to Sacramento is the shortest of our Nevada-to-NorCal routes, but it still climbs out of the Mojave and crosses the Tehachapis before dropping into the Central Valley. Our crew rolls out of Henderson on I-215 to catch I-15 north past the dry lakebeds around Barstow, then cuts west on CA-58 over Tehachapi Pass and picks up I-5 North at the base of the Grapevine. From there it's a straight run up the west side of the San Joaquin Valley through Bakersfield, Fresno, and Stockton before reaching Sacramento.

Murdock’s runs this move on our own USDOT and CPUC authority with one truck and one crew start to finish. The same team that wraps and loads your furniture in Henderson is the team that carries it up I-5 and unloads it at your Sacramento address. Nothing gets handed to a broker's partner carrier or transferred at a terminal, so we can typically complete the door-to-door move in two to three days depending on load size and your delivery window.

DESTINATION BRIEF

Arriving in Sacramento.

  • Trading Henderson's desert heat and master-planned sprawl for a greener, river-lined city with genuine tree canopy and four seasons
  • State government, healthcare (UC Davis Health, Kaiser), and tech (Intel) jobs anchor a growing Sacramento economy
  • Far more affordable than the Bay Area while staying within two hours of San Francisco, Tahoe, and Napa
  • Returning to California to be closer to family and established roots
  • More established, walkable neighborhoods and mature housing stock than newer Nevada subdivisions

Sacramento is California's capital and the hub of the fastest-growing metro in Northern California. For someone leaving Henderson's master-planned desert subdivisions, the trade is trees, rivers, and four real seasons in exchange for the Mojave's heat and sprawl. The American and Sacramento rivers meet at the edge of downtown, and the region sits within a two-hour drive of San Francisco, Lake Tahoe, and Napa Valley.

Where you land shapes the move. Downtown and Midtown are the walkable, grid-street heart of the city, full of Victorian and Craftsman homes, farm-to-fork restaurants, and street parking that our crews plan around. East Sacramento and Land Park are established tree-lined neighborhoods with tighter driveways, while Natomas, Elk Grove, Folsom, and Roseville offer newer suburban homes with the kind of garage and driveway access that makes for a fast unload. Many of our Henderson customers are relocating for state government, UC Davis Health, Kaiser, or Intel jobs, or simply cashing Bay Area-adjacent equity into more space.

Because we know the region, we can advise on the practical stuff: Midtown moves often need a parking permit or careful shuttle planning, while a Folsom or Roseville delivery is usually a straightforward back-a-truck-up job. Either way the same crew handles both ends.
