The haul from San Jose to Chico is a little over 200 miles that trades Silicon Valley gridlock for the open Sacramento Valley. Our crew pulls out of San Jose on US-101 and I-680, climbs I-580 east over the Altamont Pass and its wind farms, then merges onto I-5 north through the Delta and past Sacramento before following CA-99 the final stretch into Chico.
