CORRIDOR NOTES

What This Route Changes.

Distances and drive times are planning estimates. Exact access, timing and delivery details are confirmed for each address before the move.

The move from Tampa to Yuba City is a genuine coast-to-coast haul, and Murdock’s runs it end to end on our own USDOT and CPUC authority. Your household is loaded once in the Tampa Bay area and stays on the same truck with the same crew all the way to Yuba-Sutter. There is no warehouse swap, no shared trailer, and no broker handing your shipment to whoever is cheapest that week. We roll north out of Tampa on I-75, connect to I-10 across the Panhandle, and push west through New Orleans, Houston, and El Paso.

From West Texas the route crosses the desert Southwest through Phoenix before turning north into California, where we pick up I-5 through the Central Valley toward Yuba City, arriving roughly 2,780 miles and 41 to 43 hours of driving later. Because a single Murdock’s crew handles both the Tampa load and the Yuba City unload, your delivery window is realistic and your point of contact never changes. A cross-country move of this length usually runs six to eight days, and with a Murdock’s yard right here in the valley we schedule pickup and delivery around real transit time.

DESTINATION BRIEF

Arriving in Yuba City.

  • Some of the most affordable housing in Northern California, with far more house and yard than coastal metros for the money
  • A quieter, family-oriented small-city pace in the heart of Yuba-Sutter ag country
  • Beale Air Force Base, agriculture, healthcare, and government provide steady regional employment
  • About an hour to Sacramento for big-city jobs, sports, and an international airport while paying valley prices
  • Trading Florida's hurricane season, humidity, and rising insurance costs for a dry-summer inland-California climate

Yuba City sits at the center of the Yuba-Sutter region, a working agricultural community in the north Sacramento Valley known for peaches, prunes, walnuts, and rice, with the Sutter Buttes rising just to the west as the smallest mountain range in the world. It offers a slower, more affordable pace than the Sacramento metro to the south, with family neighborhoods, established downtown Marysville across the Feather River, and a strong sense of local community anchored by generations of farming families and one of the country's largest Punjabi-American populations.

Moving here from Tampa, most people land in Yuba City's residential subdivisions along the west side, the newer developments near Plumas Lake and Sutter, or across the river in Marysville and Linda. Affordability is the headline draw: buyers priced out of the Bay Area and coastal California find substantially more house and yard here. Beale Air Force Base is a major regional employer alongside agriculture, healthcare, and government, and the location keeps Sacramento about an hour south for work, sports, and an international airport.

A Murdock’s delivery in Yuba City looks the same whether you are unloading into a west-side subdivision or a place out toward Sutter: one crew that packed the truck in Tampa carries your household in, places the large pieces, and reassembles what we broke down. As an owner-operated carrier with a yard right here in the valley, we know the Yuba-Sutter streets, the ag-country lots, and the summer heat that shapes how a move day should run.
