CORRIDOR NOTES
Distances and drive times are planning estimates. Exact access, timing and delivery details are confirmed for each address before the move.
Las Vegas to Sacramento is about 386 miles and roughly 6 to 6.5 hours of driving, the shortest of our three NorCal routes out of Las Vegas. Our crew leaves the valley on I-15 North to Barstow, climbs west over the Tehachapi Pass on CA-58 into Bakersfield, and then runs straight up the Central Valley on I-5 North into the state capital. The same Murdock’s truck and crew that wrap and load your home in Las Vegas make the entire drive and unload it in Sacramento, with no swaps and no strangers' freight riding along.
We handle this corridor on our own USDOT and CPUC authority as an owner-operated carrier, never as a broker, so there is no van-line handoff and no warehouse transfer. You get one flat-rate quote, one dedicated crew and one accountable point of contact from load day to delivery. Because it is a shorter long-distance haul, we usually plan a 2-4 day window depending on load size and your requested delivery date, and we keep you posted on the truck's progress up the valley so you know exactly when to meet us.

DESTINATION BRIEF
Sacramento is California's state capital and the largest, most urban of our three Northern California destinations. For people leaving Las Vegas, it offers real city amenities without Bay Area prices: a walkable, tree-shaded downtown and Midtown grid full of restaurants and coffee houses, the revived Railyards and Golden 1 Center entertainment district, and historic neighborhoods like Land Park, East Sacramento and Curtis Park. Sitting where the American and Sacramento Rivers meet, the city is known as the City of Trees, and residents can be in San Francisco, Lake Tahoe or Napa in well under two hours.
A big share of Sacramento's growth comes from Bay Area overflow, people priced out of San Francisco and San Jose who still want their jobs, so the region has absorbed a wave of remote workers and hybrid commuters. Moves land across a wide metro: urban condos and Craftsman bungalows in Midtown and East Sac, family suburbs in Folsom, Roseville, Elk Grove and Natomas, and river-adjacent communities out toward the Delta. That range means our crews handle everything from tight downtown apartment stairs to large suburban homes with three-car garages.
The state government, a growing tech and healthcare sector, and UC Davis anchor the job market, and the American River Parkway, farm-to-fork dining scene and Delta waterways give the area a strong outdoor and lifestyle pull. For Las Vegas transplants, Sacramento is usually the choice when they want a full-size city with rivers, greenery and a milder climate rather than a small valley town.
