CORRIDOR NOTES
Distances and drive times are planning estimates. Exact access, timing and delivery details are confirmed for each address before the move.
The run from Washington, DC to Yuba City covers roughly 2,810 miles and 40 to 42 hours behind the wheel. Our crews leave the capital region on I-270 and connect to I-70 West through the Alleghenies, across Pennsylvania and Ohio, then pick up I-80 for the long middle stretch through the Great Plains, over the Rockies and across the Great Basin past Salt Lake City. From Reno the road climbs Donner Summit over the Sierra Nevada and drops into the Sacramento Valley, with the final leg running north on Highway 99 into the Yuba-Sutter area.
Because Murdock’s is an owner-operated carrier running on our own DOT authority (USDOT 3421940, MC 1416634), the same truck and the same crew that pad-wrap your furniture in the DC area are the ones who carry it into Yuba City. Your shipment is never handed off to a broker, dropped at a warehouse dock, or consolidated with strangers' boxes. We keep a yard in Yuba City, so the crew knows the local streets and the surrounding Sutter and Yuba County roads firsthand. On a run this long we plan a realistic multi-day transit and keep you updated on arrival timing.

DESTINATION BRIEF
Yuba City sits at the heart of the Yuba-Sutter region, an agricultural pocket of the Sacramento Valley known for peach and walnut orchards, rice fields and the Sutter Buttes rising out of the flatland nearby. For someone leaving Washington, DC, it is about as different as California gets: an affordable, family-oriented small city where a government or federal salary stretches into a real house with a yard, and the pace is set by seasons and orchards rather than the Beltway.
Where you land shapes the move. Established neighborhoods in Yuba City proper offer ranch homes on generous lots, while newer subdivisions on the north and west sides bring modern construction and family-friendly cul-de-sacs. Across the Feather River, Marysville has a historic downtown and older character homes, and outlying communities like Live Oak, Sutter and Olivehurst give buyers even more room. Beale Air Force Base anchors a steady military and civilian community nearby, and many families relocating to the area are tied to the base. Our crews handle all of it, from an in-town ranch to a new build out among the orchards.
Practically, a move into Yuba City is straightforward on access, with wide streets and driveways in most neighborhoods, though rural deliveries can mean gravel drives or a long carry. We scope the destination when we book so the crew arrives with the right plan, and everything that left DC on our truck comes off the same truck here.
